The Aqua Rock Bloom, when fed to a Hydro and a Dark Jaguar,
has the chance to produce and offspring that has the Aqua Rock hide.

The Aqua Rock Bloom can be found in the planters in the moon garden
at the Obsidian Valley.

Be sure you get these flowers while you can, because with all blooms, they
are fleeting. These flowers will only be around until November 10th. Be sure you get
this bloom because you will regret missing it.

Alchemists of the Obsidian Circle, our efforts to unlock the mysteries of alchemy have progressed beyond our greatest hopes.
We have been forging this new path in science for 8 years. The Obsidian Council is pleased with the progress we have made.

The Obsidian Council officially charges you, the Alchemists of the Enclaves, to go forth into the world and find new talent.

For a new alchemist to be credited, they will need to register on the website and access their breeder profile,

April 1st of this year will be credited as a new recruit.

Once the goal of 100 new or returning alchemists has been met,

During the month of April, you will be able to get the Diamond Gem Fusion hide

That's right alchemists, There have been not one, but 2 new Bloom Flowers Developed!
The First flower, the Cotton Candy Bloom, when fed to a Yinglong and a Qinglong,
has the chance to produce and offspring that has the cotton candy dragon hide.

The Cotton Candy Bloom can be found in the planters in the moon garden
at the Obsidian Valley.

The secon Bloom flower was developed by the order enclave. The Crimson Dragon.
These bloom flowers can be found out front of all four order enclave buildings.
When fed to 2 Shenlong Chimeras, they have a chance to produce offspring that
posess not just the Crimson Dragon Hide, but also a Crimson Dragon eye to match.

Be sure you get these flowers while you can, because with all blooms, they
are fleeting. These flowers will only be around until April 17th. Be sure you get
this bloom because you will regret missing it.

The Obsidian Chimeras Version 3.1 update is now available at the main store.

Fixed Bugs:
- Chimeras sound settings will now work.
- Many issues when riding your animal have been resolved
- Fishing will no longer generate error messages or cause your chimeras to poof
- Fighting chimeras should not repeatedly try to run from battle
- Wild chimeras and fighting chimeras will stop falling through the floor
- Many issues with animals getting stuck during roaming have been resolved
- Combat has been smoothed out and lost a lot of it's issues

Items Requiring Update
- All mining ingredients you get from the rock will need to be run through the recycler in the sanctum
- Fusion Arrays, Brittle Elixirs, Dulling Elixirs, Lethargy Elixirs, and Weakness Elixirs will need to be updated using the golden item updating tables at the main store. They work the same as the processing tables for fishing.

In Addition to the new Ritual Book, we are releasing a special Lover's Bundle holiday ritual pack.

There are now special Chimeras roaming the wild that are the Wild alternate of the Majestic Prism hides. Grab your dominion materia and help us obtain a sample of this strange chimera. This could be an excellent chance to get some very interesting data. You can now capture the Wild Majesty chimera in the wild until December 31st.

The Final Push is upon us!
We have constructed the array required to destroy the necromancer totams that are
draining the natural energy from our lands.

The circle requires that 4 differnet seals be used, one on each of 4 chimeras.
You will need to ride your chimera while it wears the seal of your order.
When 4 chimeras with 4 seals touch the totems within the circle, they will
charge nature energy and emit it into the totems.

This will overload the totems and destroy them. When you destroy enough totems,
The main totem will weaken and eventually fall apart.

Alchemists, the time is now! Let's get this evil out of our lands!

Totem Site

The Druid we spoke with has given us access to some of their alchemy.
We are now able to use the special talents of each of our orders to craft
A sealing rune for a chimera to wear. These runes are able to combat
the evil necromancer alchemy.

The recipe tablets for these can be found in your Order Enclave.

Order Enclave

We have been contacted by a strange group of alchemists we have never seen before.
They are apparently from a different sect of alchemy more ancient than that or the
Obsidian Order.
The Druids practice a different discipline of alchemy that is much more rooted in
nature.

We have been learning from these Druids and have been told their ancient story.
They have been in constant conflict with a sect of fallen druids, The Necromancers.
These Necromancers use alchemy to twist the natural order and create perverse monsters
for their own self advancement. They have no love or care for the natural order.
The Druids have allowed us access to their cleansing site where we can bring the
hollow chimeras we have encased. The hollow chimeras are a result of the evil
power of the Necromancers. With the druids help, we can remove this hollowed state
and bring the chimeras back to normal.

It seems that the necromancer rituals involved a Hollow Bone imbedded into the chimeras.
When the chimeras are cleansed, the hollow bones are left behind. Be sure you hold on to
them for further study. We may find a clue to how the hollofication process works and
remove it from our wilds all together.

Be vigilant alchemists. There is no challenge we cannot overcome as long as we work together.

In order to use the cleansing site, you must drop your encased chimera on the circle altar and touch
it. Then just observe the ritual until you receive the hollow bone.


The Ritual Site

We have discovered a new materia formulation we are calling Encasement Materia.
This materia is allowing us to Encase the hollow chimeras we are seeing in the wild
in hopes that we can preserve them. Soon we hope to have some idea what caused them
to appear all over the wilds and also gain some insight into how we can help cleanse them.

For Now, all we can do is try to gather as many encased hollow samples as possible with
hope that we can prevail!


You will need the new Chimera Control HUD 3.0 rev. 2 in order to use the Encasement Materia.
Once a chimera has been encased it will be inside the materia, and the materia will change to
an Encased Chimera.

Be sure you pick it up after catching it. These captured Hollows will be needed.

Calling all Alchemists, We have a new problem!

We have noticed there is something causing the wild animals to lose themselves and become hollow.
The Circle has determined that a new enemy has shown its hand. We have discovered an organization
of Necromancers that have begun using some form of destructive alchemy to harm nature itself.

We are researching as quickly as we can to try and combat this evil.

Along side these hollow chimeras, we have discovere starnge plants growing in ritual circles of some
kind that respond to alchemy. The rituals require differing numbers of alchemists to perform.
It seems to somehow be related to the color of the flower growing in the circle.

When the flower is completely grown, it attracts chimeras to it, which then harvest berries from the plants.

We are not sure what these berries are for, but we have never seen anything like this.

All Order Alchemists are being asked to gather as much of these berries as we can to determine
if they have any use to us.
We will be tracking your progress and rewarding the alchemists who prove most dedicated.


The Berry growing plots are appearing on the Event Field at the Obsidian Circle,
and in dedicated regions where the wild chimeras are gathering.

We have also noticed strange Poltergeist and Ecto Wraith Chimeras in the wild.
They seem to be able to be captured with Dominion Materia.

There is a new fusion hide to discover. The combined mystique of the Askr and Embla have
brought forth the new Archdruid Madr. To obtain the new hide, you will need to perform
a fusion with one chimera being of the green color set, and the other being of the blue color set.
The color sets are listed on the website for reference.

Everyone in chimeras rejoice. You can now own your own personal training equipment.
The Vendors for this equipment can be found at the main region training area.
The Pricing is L$ 5000 for each level 3 device, L$ 3500 for level 2, and L$ 2000 for level 1.
I have made this equipment available for purchase now, and still plan to
have a system where you can make your own. The issue has been time.
With everything going on, I have not had the time to develop the tools for a
system that would allow you to create the equipment.

So I have made it available to purchase for the people who have
expressed a need. This decision is not made lightly, and I do it for
the future growth of chimeras.

It has been made aware to me that no matings that were done after the switch to the new server worked.
This was an issue with how the updated server handles database data, and has been resolved.
Any chimeras that got pregnant between when the server swapped and this afternoon when i fixed it
will not produce any offspring. To make up for this error, i have added an extra mating to EVERY
chimera on the grid. If there is something specific you would like me to address, then feel
free to file a ticket. If having an extra mating added to all your animals i solution enough,
then I say, Thank you, and have a great time with your animals. Otherwise, file a ticket and i
will sort out your issues as quickly as i can. I appreciate your attention and time in this,
and your continued patronage.

I will also be adding a 10 pack of food to everyone's food storage.

Some alchemists are starting to wonder why they have lost their assigned role in the Obsidian Circle.
The roles had been assigned in a less than even manner the first time around. So everyone has had their roles removed.
The recruiting circle on the order platform has been re-worked to eliminate the most populated role when
assigning a new role to an alchemist. This will prevent any group from becoming much larger than the rest.

Additionally, any alchemist who gets assigned a role from the circle will receive a recruiting scroll.
This scroll will be able to be given to another alchemist to recruit them to the same role you have been
recruited too as long as they have not already been assigned a role.
Once a role is assigned, it cannot be altered through any means.

If you want to be in the same role as a friend or partner, be sure to ask them before getting your
assignment.

Order Platform

Starting August 11th there will be a fun breedable expo called A Walk in the Woods.
Obsidian Chimera will be represented there along with the other breedables and will be giving
out some special items exclusive to the expo.

There are now special Chimeras roaming the wild that are the result of a springtime folly. One of our alchemists was too busy with his spring fever to pay attention to his experiment, and accidentally blew up his laboratory. The explosion released an alchemical reaction that seems to have altered the state of some of the chimeras roaming wild. Grab your dominion materia and help us wrangle them all for study before the effect wares off. This could be an excellent chance to get some very interesting data. You can now capture the elusive Embla in the wild until June 27th.

Alchemists of the Obsidian Circle, it is with great pride and excitement that I announce the release of the Obsidian Chimeras Version 3.0!

New in this version:

_____Exotic Trait changes_____
- There has been an extra prim added to allow for more detailed head exotic traits.
- 2 extra tail prims have been added to allow for Alpha Fox Tails to be more accurate with the exotic traits.
- A new category of exotic traits has been added. There are now separate front and rear exotic leg traits.
Some exotic leg traits will be able to pass from front leg to back leg, and will soon be labelled accordingly on the website.

_____Breeding Changes_____
- The fewer breedings a couple has, the higher the chances the baby will have the best stats possible from its parents.
- There is a new system called "Lucky Mating". When a chimera gets the "Lucky" tag on it's hovertext,
it means the baby gets a boost to the stat points that pass. This is a random occurance.
- There is a new system called "Love Bonding". Chimeras can now smell out a good match for mating by letting them roam near opposite sex chimeras.
If the chimera senses a mate with similar hidden traits, you will see it show the bond with small hearts floating over its head and the
potential mates head. If the hearts are bright and glowing, they are a perfect match.

_____Riding Changes_____
- You can now control a chimera much more relaibly while riding it. The entire mounting system has received a complete remake. Now while riding, you can jump the chimera using the same button you use to make your avatar jump, and you can sprint by holding the forward button and tapping on the backward button once. This will make your chimera start running, and will show a sprint meter above its tail. When the meter runs out, the chimera will return to walking. The rate they run and walk is determined by the chimera's speed. The height they can jump and swimming speed are determined by strength. The speed at which the sprint meter refills is determined by cunning. The amount of stamina is determined by endurance. You can ride chimeras through water. If you ride a chimera up too steep an incline, you will slide down the slope.

_____General Performance Upgrades_____
- The animation systems have been redone to take up less than half the memory that they used previously.
- All Dens will now have the auto add feature
- There are new settings to allow turning off particle effects (except for those caused from combat).
- There is a new feature in the actions menu called "Stay". This will set your chimera to not be able to roam or follow. It won't respond to toys either.
to release the chimera from "Stay" status, you use the "Free" command.
- The accessory and exotic trait systems have been completely rescripted to perform more reliably. This includes an update that will
show you all of your stored accessories on the animal menu in alphabetical order. It also features a new "Remove All" option to
remove all of the accessories a single chimera is wearing.
- The chimeras have a lot of new script options for enabling new features like beds and interactive environment items. They have a
new sleep animation, and a new fly animation, that you will see when the chimeras makes use of beds or is attached to you and you fly with it.
- There is new scripting to allow remote removal of riders and remote addition of riders to the chimera which will allow for a
lot of interesting games in the future.
- Chimeras will now stop all movement when no avatars are present to save on the sim perforemance.
- The chimeras now have a specialization title which represents the way its stats are distributed.
- Mining has been overhauled. You will now have to hold the mouse button down the entire time you want to mine.
- The texture engine has been redone to allow for a lot of new tricks to make chimeras more varied with their looks.

_____Wild Changes_____
- The chimeras in the wild will no longer run off the region, but will instead run really fast in a circle to get away.
- Wild chimeras will no longer sit after defeating an opponent.
- The new chimera control HUD will allow you to set your chimeraand the target chimera. So you will not have to keep typing the number of the one you are fighting. It will also allow you to upload Phoenix ashes and Full Healing Tonics to it, which you can then use on the chimera you have set on your HUD. The settings button will have an add item option. You just rezz the items on the ground nearby and click the add item button and then the item you are adding. Also in the settings are options to change text color, background type, and size of the HUD.
- There is a new type of wild chimera out the, The dreaded Apex Pack Leader. The Apex will always have 500 total points and an element. Capturing it will get you 10 tokens. They are easy to spot because they are massive. The other interesting feature of the Apex, is that it will automatically attack your chimeras if they get too close.

_____Combat Changes_____
- Combat has been changed heavily. There will be a new section coming on the website that will explain this in great detail. The main points to take away are that the elemental impulse activation will now be tied to a new stat called Battle Spirit instead of cunning. This will allow ANY chimera to make effecive use of their element. With that in mind, the elements have been given a new enhancement called Focus. The element can have 1 of 3 different focuses. There is the Attack focus, the Defense Focus, and the Special focus. Attack Focus will use the element to attack their opponent like the fire and lightning elements have always done. The defense Focus will be the sameon all elements. Your chimera will summon elemental pillars and charge themselves with a shield that protects them from damage. The special focus will be the status effecting abilities the other elements have always had. Some will blind or confuse, while others will speed a chimera up or drain health from an enemy. This will all be explained in greater detail in the Combat Field Guide coming to the website soon.
- Elemental Impulse effects have been DRASTICALLY IMPROVED

_____Bug Fixes_____
- Bears of all ages can run and play and will now stay on the ground.
- Chimeras will now move with a stride befitting their size.
- Alpha Chimeras forehead crests will now show the correct texturing.
- Accessories and exotic traits should now start attached when fighting or swimming or getting knocked out.


This new update is now available at the main store. To use it, you just rez it on the ground on the region with your chimera items and click it. It will move around updating all your animals, stones, dens, summoning portalsd, and training equipment (for region owners). When it completes updating it will inform you in chat. You can also sit on it and ride it around while it works.

This update is Massive and took me forever. I hope it will all go smoothly. I would like thank everyone for their patience and support during this process. I would also like to thank those of you who spent the time to help me beta test the new stuff thoroughly to ensure the quality is as high as possible.

Since i am sure the update will be finished relatively soon, I am opening registration for season 18. You may register the fighters now. No set date on when registration closes or what the schedule for the season will be.

There are now special Chimeras roaming the wild that are the result of a springtime folly. One of our alchemists was too busy with his spring fever to pay attention to his experiment, and accidentally blew up his laboratory. The explosion released an alchemical reaction that seems to have altered the state of some of the chimeras roaming wild. Grab your dominion materia and help us wrangle them all for study before the effect wares off. This could be an excellent chance to get some very interesting data. You can now capture 2 new hides in the wild until April 17th. One hide is going to be relatively easy to get, the other, not so much. Have fun out there Alchemists!

I do not know what happened, but i am sure it is somehow my fault. All of the chimeras in the database were set to be "in the wild" so it started deleting them all in world. I am sorry that this happened, and i was up until 5am trying to fix it and figure out what the hell went wrong. I was trying to figure out why the server has been acting so terribly as of late, and then everything went tits up. I was able to restore everything from the weekly server backup, thankfully which was a matter of like an hour old. SO no one should really have lost much. I know that you will all have a hard time restoring all the animals that had gotten removed, from your land and all the sales stalls. It is a big issue. I am open to doing whatever I can to help, and will probably be making a special portal device that can do more than 10 animals at a time. So stay tuned for more updates, and if you have anything that got lost/broken, please file a ticket, just 1 ticket, and i will help as quickly as i am able.

The token vendor has been updated and now has the Ritual Book - Kirin in it. This decision was made because the Kirin book is the only place you can get the Void element, and with the new update re-imagining the element systems, I thought that it might be a nice option for the newer and veteran alchemists to be able to access this book. I have also release the Descendant Hide for Kirin. The new Hide is named Moonbeam, and can pass from any chimera that has the "Descendant of Kirin" title. These new hides are on display at the main store.

It seams that the snow leopard flowers are attracting something very interesting to the wilds...

GOOD NEWS ALCHEMISTS! Because of outstanding efforts in the laboratory, We have discovered another rare bloom of flower from the Obsidian Valley's hidden past. This bloom appears to work when given to a chimera with Sable hide, and given to a second chimera with the Ice element. The offspring of the animals comes out with a Snow Leopard type hide. It is really interesting!

We have enough materials on hand to make these blooms available until February 20th. Be sure to get in on this while you can!

The January gem fusion has been released. It will be obtainable through fusion of any Red hide with any Purple hide.

The December gem fusion has been released. It will be obtainable through fusion of any Blue hide with any White hide.

The November gem fusion has been released. It will be obtainable through fusion of any Orange hide with any Yellow hide.

The Mummy has been put back to rest and the curse is lifing from the wild chimeras. Great Job Alchemists! You absolutely crushed the goals as a community and showed me that next time we have an event, I better bring the challenge.

The prizes for the Curse of the Mummy event are set up and ready for you guys to come get. There are three boxes at the main store entrance, one for each seal. For each of the seals you helped to close, you will receive the prizes when you click the corresponding box. This weekend, on the 29th at 2PM SLT I will be hosting a treasure hunt. This hunt will be run on the Main Obsidian Region at the Order Platform. I will also be setting up treasure hunt locations on some of the other dedicated regions. The Treasure hunt will be activated at 2PM and will run until all of the golden chests are discovered. To participate, you will just need to rez out a chimera and set it to follow you and then walk around slowly. When the Chimera finds a treasure, it will dig it out of the ground for you to grab. Every avatar will be limited to 2 Golden chests during this event. I will be putting all manner of fun prizes in these chests, including this years balloon and party hat accessories for the celebration of the 6th year of chimera fun.

It seems that the evil mummy has been disturbed and visited the land with a wave of curses.
The third seal which can put the mummy back to sleep involves refilling his canopic jars with a sacrifice of the flesh.
I call upon you, the brave alchemists of the Obsidian Circle to help stop this evil bastard!
In the mummy's pyramid are 4 canopic jars. These jars will need to be filled with varying amounts of meat and organs. Specifically, the jars will require Meat, Offal, Eyeballs, and Bone Meal.

EACH JAR ACCEPTS ONLY ONE TYPE OF ITEM. BE SURE YOU PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT IT ASKS YOU FOR WHEN YOU SIT ON IT.

To place them in the jar, you will need to sit on the jar, and then control drag the items onto the lower part of the jar. You will know you are doing it correctly when the jar highlights in a red outline. Then just let the mouse button go and you will see the jar tally all of the items you drop into it. Anything you drop in the jar that is not the correct item will be destroyed.
Be Careful, the mummy has set out a lot of traps that can hurt or even kill you. Be sure you progress through the pyramid with caution.

It seems that the evil mummy has been disturbed and visited the land with a wave of curses.
The second of these curses has appeared in the form of a swarm of scarab beetles.
I call upon you, the brave alchemists of the Obsidian Circle to help stop this evil bastard!
To stop the infestation of the Obsidian Valley, you will need to bring a chimera set on follow with you around the event platform. The beetles seem to be partial to Juniper berry bushes. You should be able to scare them out of the bushes and defeat them with a chimera. Once a chimera has defeated the beetle, it will remove the Scarab Jewel and bring it to you. These jewels appear to be the key to the second seal.

We have found a statue of Anubis near the mummy's tomb which has a sacrificing table. If we sacrifice enough of these jewels to Anubis, he will close the second seal and place us one step closer to silencing the evil threat.

The October gem fusion has been released. It will be obtainable through fusion of any blue hide with any purple hide.

There are 2 recipes available now that are for Shoulder Pets. These are little cheetahs for your avatar and they have bahamut wings with the skeleton theme. One of them is a Skeleton Hide, and the other is the La Muerta Hide. When you attach them to your avatar you can click them and they will fly up and down and flap theri wings.

The recipes for both of the shoulder pets can be found on the website at the Atelier Sanctum.

It is officially the first day of the Month of Madness. Welcome to October.
This month will be the 6th year we have been playing with our chimeras, and it has been insane.
I want all of you to know how important and special it is to me that we have made it this far.

So with all of that mushie stuff out of the way, I Welcome you to the party!

This month we are doing a lot of fun stuff. We have a new Limited Edition with Egyptan flavor.
We have a lot of new and returning items for crafting in the sanctum including the Witch Hat,
the Pumpkin Bucket, and the Reaper Scythe.
There will also be recipes coming out for 2 new shoulder cheetahs that will be themed with La Muerata
and skeleton hides.
These special items require Chimera Candy which can be obtained at any of the regions on the location page with fishing.

Currently the wilds are being haunted by Spectres and Wraiths. You will be able to see them
and are incouraged to capture them or send them back to where they came with a Tranquility materia.

Speaking of the tranquility materia, the new feature to the wild enables you to calm the wild beasts.
Calming a chimera will send it away and reward you with a token, and experience for your order.
The wild chimeras are also cursed this month, wrapped up like mummies. Every mummy you tranquillize will
be kept track of, and if the entire community reaches the total goal, prizes will be rewarded to everyone.

As part of the Curse of the mummy community event, there will also be 2 more challenges to be announced later.

We also have an old den and a new den for sale. The pumpkin den has returned to the Main store
for a limited time, and with it, there is a Pyramid Den. The new Pyramid den has a new feature which
allows for an Auto Add. This will suck up as many chimeras as it can (max of 10) from the nearby area.

Also this month there will be a treasure hunt and a fishing competition to be scheduled later.
Prizes for these will include the new party hat and balloon accessories, gift cards, random consumable items,
and old LE ritual books.

We will also have the new LE food bin with the 6th anniversary cupcakes available for purchase at the main store.
It will be made avaialable sometime this weekend.

We have developed a new materia designed to calm the spirits of any cursed chimera. The Tranquility Materia!
These can be purchased at the wild locations where the mummified chimeras spawn.
You will need a new wild hud also, which will enable the use of these new materia.

The registrations for Circuit competition are now open until Midnight Sunday August 21st. Be sure to register your chimeras if you plan to compete in season 15.

The Nimue, Arther, and Guinevere will all be gone on the 14th of August. Be sure to grab yours before they go back to the mists of Avalon. However, the Quest will still be available for the swords.

Good news, Alchemists! The sixth fusion gemstone is now available. You have a 75% chance of any fusion involving a red hide and a black hide chimera resulting in a Ruby chimera. There is also a very rare chance of getting the Pristine Ruby hide along with the Ruby Gem exotic trait. Fusion arrays are for sale at all chimera vendor locations. For a reference of what color each hide possesses, there is a section on the website’s trait info menu.

Starting with this new LE, there is something new. Something… quest-like. This will involve some working your way through many aspects of the chimeras. You will need to get a hold of the new LE, the new Bloom, and the New wild Hide in order to complete all the stages of this adventure.
